Taking a standalone arcade for a test drive

Post by Anna » December 14th, 2017, 8:25 pm

I found one free stand alone arcade script that for now will be available for amusement and relax. It does not however work well with https (there are external resources that are not operating on https so it would give an error)

I'm considering a couple other options, I'd very much prefer the arcade to be integrated with the forums, that leaves little options other then A) re-reg and re-install the old one (I'm not really keen on that due to how the dev handled things) or B) Switch forum software.

I have made a test with that and it worked fairly well to get users/posts etc migrated, but it did give a bit odd results on formatting. The latter can probably be handled with some SQL wizardy. Apart from that there's obviously some setting up/configuring/styling and such that needs to be done, so all of that will have to wait until I got some time off from work to sit out a day and sort it.

For now you can access the arcade I'm testing at http://webbyanna.com/arcade

If you do register there it will save scores for at least some of the games that are currently installed, specifically those marked as achievment games. You should be able to play just fine without being registered though

Yeah, not a huge fan of that set-up. I am not registering there so that's not helping. Nice selection of games though.
Good luck with this aspect of your website.
